Saturday, June 9, 2012 Daily Update
Had a late start to the day today. That’s what weekends are for, right? 🙂
Have some extra time today? Today I’m sharing some of the better posts I’ve come across over the last week or so.
Weekly Highlights
5 Ways to Create More Value – Would you like to be able to command a higher price for your products & services? Price is directly correlated to the tangible and intangible value you add to what you’re selling. The more your customers see value, the more you can charge. In this post, John Jantsch provides 5 ways to create more value and ultimately make more money. Simple ideas but if you actually take some time with the 5 methods to see how you can incorporate them within your business, I’m confident you’ll see improvements within months.
9 Ways to Become an Optimist – I genuinely believe that maintaining an optimistic outlook and keeping yourself in a “happy” place makes it easier to become successful. For many people, it’s a struggle to be optimistic. Almost daily, I have someone ask me how I can be upbeat and positive all the time. This post outlines the ways to be more optimistic and stay in a good place. If this area is something difficult for you, realize that even optimists have to work at it. In my own case, it requires daily effort. But the pay off is there.
How to Boost Business With Fantastic Photography – Some fabulous tips and points made in this post about the importance of using great photography on websites. I’ve worked with clients over the years who had too limited budgets to splurge on high-end web design who were able to have wonderful sites created where the site design was simple, but excellent photography made the site not only professional but a visual feast.
Revisiting Why Incompetents Think They Are Awesome – Would it surprise you to know that I read as many books about psychology as I do about business? I believe that understanding people, being able to properly assess, and see below the surface are important skills for any entrepreneur to have. It helps with dealing with customers, building a solid team and, of course, marketing. This article is a very interesting read. When recruiting in areas I have little personal knowledge of, it can be a considerable challenge to select appropriate candidates. My own experience has shown me that people rarely self-assess accurately. The author suggests using experts but that isn’t always right. Look at some of the conferences (web and offline) and you’ll often see incompetents being highlighted on the speakers roster.
Have a fabulous day friends!
xoxo
